Juratum supplies the judgement of vetted, named professionals (lawyers, clinicians, defence specialists and beyond) to the laboratories and companies building AI. Membership is selective, paid, remote, and governed by a published standard. This page tells you exactly what joining involves.

Two things to know before you start. First, we verify who you are when you sign up, and where your profession has a register, we verify that too before you take on regulated work. Second, everything after sign-up (the interview, the tests, the psychometric assessment) is built around the specific role you choose. A litigation solicitor and a consultant cardiologist are not assessed the same way, and neither should be.

Registration adds weight; it is never requiredYou do not need a professional registration to join — unregulated disciplines are just as welcome. If you do hold one (SRA, Bar, CILEX, GMC, NMC, GPhC, HCPC, or equivalent), adding it lets us verify you against the public register, which carries real weight with clients whose work demands it.

Verify your identity

One submission: your photo ID and a selfie. A named human examiner checks it, never an algorithm. Identity is the one gate we are unforgiving about, because it is the product: every member is exactly who they say they are. If the evidence is thin you'll be told why, in writing, and can submit again. Until your identity is verified, the interview and everything beyond it stays locked.

Assessments & engagements

Verified members sit standing assessments: real work-samples marked by a named examiner against a known guide. Sit each once; the result travels with you across every engagement that uses it. Client engagements are then qualified for individually, with written reasons for every decision, and paid work-samples paid whether or not you qualify.

Then: qualification, per engagement

Admission gets you into the network. Each client engagement is qualified for separately: the engagement declares its requirements (specialism, seniority, any security screening) and its own work-samples, drawn from the real work and marked against a known guide by a named examiner. Each task states its AI policy plainly: some prohibit tools to measure your unaided judgement, some permit them with full disclosure. Work-samples are paid at a stated rate whether or not you qualify. Your qualifications accumulate on your member record, engagement by engagement.

What we promise every applicant

A named human decides. Automated tools assist our examiners; they never reject you. Every decision carries an examiner's name and written reasons.
The right to be reconsidered. Any adverse decision can be reviewed by a different examiner on request.
Your time is paid. Engagement work-samples are paid work at a stated rate, whether or not you qualify.
Published rules. Selection runs under the Juratum Standard: versioned, public, and cited on every decision we make.
Honest numbers. Acceptance rates are recorded from the first applicant and disclosed. We will not pretend the bar is lower than it is.
Your data, minimally. UK data residency; interview recordings retained only as long as the published schedule allows; nothing sold, nothing offshored.

Every member signs the Juratum declaration on admission: identity, no delegation, no account sharing, disclosed tool use, confidentiality, professional conduct. It is what lets a laboratory trust the network, and what makes your membership worth something. We take it as seriously as your regulator takes your registration, because we ask you to sign it as the professional your register says you are.
